University of Maryland Alum Aaron McGruder has done it once again…another memorable, classic Boondocks Episode. Maybe not quite as strong as the Dr. King Episode, but “The Huey Freeman Hunger Strike” is a little too real. The episode from Season 2 has been banned from being shown on Comedy Central along with another episode which supposedly satirically attacks BET.
In this episode, BET’s CEO, Debra Lee, “Debra Lee-vil,” a sinister Dr. Evil clone who kills underlings and rants about creating a network “that would accomplish what hundreds of years of slavery, Jim Crow and malt liquor couldn’t – the destruction of black people.” BET entertainment president Reggie Hudlin – once a “Boondocks” executive producer and mentor to McGruder is depicted as Dr. Lee-vil’s Harvard-educated sidekick who propses stealing five-year-old reality show ideas from MTV and making them black for BET (hmmm seems familiar….)
The Cartoon Network has not acknowledged that the BET attacks were the reason for pulling the “Boondocks” episodes. All a spokesperson there would say is that Turner Cable was not contacted by BET.
A Canadian network which has already showed the hunger strike episode will be airing another banned episode this Sunday. According to a report, the episode (also in protest of BET) shows Uncle Ruckus, a self-hating black man, getting his own offensive BET reality show.

Well done…
Wish we had seen it here in the US.
This show is part of the reason I enrolled back into school .
The Boondocks cartoon is real and BET can’t handle the truth! I for one totally agree with Mcgruder and BET are scared of Black people really seeing there true colors. Black people have unvoluntarly been here for over 600 years. And when we finally get our own TV station we dipict ourselves as convicts, prostitutes and clubhoppers. This image sucks of us.
BET never encourages young black youth to play a real instrument or to become a Jazz musician.Let alone they don’t even play jazz or instumental music on there 106 and park show. There’s always free style friday and there artist insult our intelligence by singing poorly and out of tune and never rap about or sing about the things there doing or seeing when there on tour in Japan or Europe somewhere. No what they do is get in the studio and say nasty, violent and degrading stuff to keep us down. There not telling you about the Pyramids they saw in Africa and how there seeing Rome and great sites. They are paid by the media and other rich radio, Television corporations to keep your kids from wanting to be a doctor or lawyer, architect , agriculturulist,President etc……… And this is done so your kids (mainly young Black kids) won’t ever want to strive to be none of those things I just mentioned. But the big wigs(CEO’s, of recordcompanies and other rich peoples/well of people who don’t give adamn) there children will be those things .So the copetition is being eliminated (OUR CHILDREN) we need to wake up .If this country (America) really cares about us it will let us depict real positive images of ourselves just as white people do of themselves. I don’t never hear Garth Brooks calling white women bithes and hoes neither does Justin Timberlake. Think about it slide man
Just to let everyone know, white people control BET (Diacom). Enough said.

I WAS MISTAKENLY UNDER THE IMPRESSION WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. BUT AS SOOON AS AN OPINION IS RAISED THAT WE DONT CARE TO HEAR COMES OUT WE BAN IT!! ALICE WALKER ANYONE?
How do a station goes from uplifting a race to downgrading it. If anyone remember this used to be a GOOD channel. But it is not just this channel, it’s radio too. The music has changed and there is too Trash being dished up as a gourmet meal.Boondock no matter what people say opens eye to what we don’t want to be.
BET is without a boubt the worst channel. Monkeys everywhere going apeshit…

Since I watched this episode about BET I will never care or watch BET like before. In fact BET is a Bitch. I never learned anything good from BET cause they don’t show anything that encourage youth. Get lost BET
I mos def agree that not just BET but all television is a very effective tool destruction to the minds of all people who watch it, but BET is targeted towards blacks. But you have to look at the whole channel in general and everything it promotes. If you look at as a tool of destruction or a sword, if u will, u must “real-eyes” that there is no dull part to a sword, all edges are sharp. You cant look at one show as being harmful but the next show helpful. Its all on the same channel control by the same people. Once you realize these people’s job is to feed you images and info that unhealthy and sometimes deadly to your mind, you must then begin to question everything the promote. Dont think for a second that Mon-Sat they feed you poison and on sunday, when the religious gosspel info is promoted, that they now care about you and want to help save your sol. Trust and believe that the promotion of christianity is just as harmful as the rest of their programming, if not even more harmful than the rest. So i guess my main point that christianity, which has been deeply drilled and is rooted into the black community, MUST ALSO BE QUESTIONED. Just think, we were given this religion by the slavemasters yes they same one that hated us, beat and killed us. Oh but one day you think that they decided to give us sumthing that was helpful like christianity, riiight….
